The Dark Curiosity Announced - A Psychological Sci-Fi Horror on an Abandoned Space Station

Budapest, Hungary, May 5th 2026 - Hungarian solo developer Tamas Sandor (Afterlife Studio) has officially announced The Dark Curiosity, a psychological sci-fi horror set on an abandoned space station. The game is now available to add to your wishlist on Steam.

In The Dark Curiosity, players awaken alone, with no memory of who they are or what happened. Exploring silent corridors, laboratories, and living quarters, they must piece together fragments of the past and uncover what led to the station’s downfall.

But the station isn’t empty.

Instead of scripted scares, the game builds tension through systems. A presence reacts to the player’s actions, forcing them to constantly decide when to move, hide, or stay still, without ever being sure it’s the right choice. With a focus on atmosphere and perception, the game encourages players to pay attention to small details and question what they’re seeing.

“I wanted to create a kind of tension where players are never completely sure if they’re safe,” says developer Tamas Sandor. “The fear comes from uncertainty, not knowing if what you’re doing is actually keeping you safe.”

The game is currently in development for PC via Steam.
